The Gig occurrence is located west of More Lake.

The area is underlain by a large Jurassic leucocratic granite pluton and by dark green-grey foliated andesitic tuffs and argillites of Paleozoic age.

Locally, poddy galena, sphalerite and chalcopyrite occur in narrow altered shear zones.

In 1991, Noranda Exploration completed a program of geological mapping and geochemical sampling. Grab sampling of a mineralized shear zone returned up to 4336 parts per million copper, 3994 parts per million zinc, 8.7 parts per million silver and 201 parts per billion gold (Assessment Report 22021).
